Europe is a key growth market for Continental Structural Plastics. The company conducts extensive R&D focused on carbon fiber technologies at its facility in Pouancé, France, and is currently in the process of installing a compounding line at this facility. The installation of this SMC line in France will be used to further develop the company’s wide range of proprietary, advanced composite products, including low-VOC formulas currently under development to meet European market regulations. The line is expected to begin production by the end of 2019.
To better serve our customers located on the continent, CSP is expanding its footprint in Europe with the recent acquisition of Inapal Plásticos in Portugal, and additional planned expansion into Eastern Europe. The addition of Inapal’s facilities into the CSP family provides us with the ability to manufacture Class A and structural components in Europe. Inapal has complete in-house design capabilities, and advanced manufacturing locations that offer top coating and the ability to texturize Class A surfaces.
In addition to the automotive industry, Inapal has established business with the heavy truck, bus and rail industries, providing components that include seats, steps and fenders.
