Capabilities – Asia Kevin Dunlap 2020-09-18T15:11:46-04:00

In Asia, our primary manufacturing and raw material compounding activities are carried out via our Chinese joint venture, CSP Victall, a 50/50 JV with Qingdao Victall Railway Group. The JV was formed in 2014 to serve the rapidly growing lightweighting needs of the Chinese automotive industry, specifically the domestic OEMs, as well as the global OEMs with operations there.

CSP Victall currently manufactures out of its facility in Tangshan, north of Beijing. A second location is planned for Nantong, near Shanghai, to serve the OEMs located in that area. Additional growth is anticipated in Southern China and Western China as the JV’s business grows.

CSP Victall can boast some firsts for composites in the Chinese auto industry, including being the first to offer a flame retardant SMC for battery cases, and the first to produce a composite box for a Chinese OEM’s pickup truck program.

Additionally, CSP’s overall materials expertise is enhanced by the extensive capabilities of Teijin, which is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
