Continental Structural Plastics Adds Two Industry Experts to Executive Team
Auburn Hills, Michigan – January 14, 2016 —Continental Structural Plastics (CSP), the global leader in lightweight advanced composite technologies, today announced that it has hired Rob Simon (pictured) as vice president of Strategy, and Steven Wusterbarth as executive director, Advanced Engineering & Manufacturing. Both will report directly to Chairman and CEO Frank Macher.
“Rob and Steve each have extensive experience in their respective areas that will bring clarity and focus to our growth plans,” said Macher. “Their leadership will allow us to fully leverage recent and future investments, and provide us with strategic direction regarding the company’s domestic and global initiatives.”
Simon, who joins CSP from LMC Automotive where he was vice president, Business Development, is responsible for developing the strategic agenda for the company, with a focus on facilitating planning, ensuring growth and achieving strategic intent and vision.
Prior to his position at LMC, Simon served as director of Sales & Marketing and director of Asia-Pacific Business Development for Metaldyne. He’s also held positions in project management and market research. In all, Rob brings more than 20 years of diversified automotive industry experience to CSP.
A resident of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, Simon holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Eastern Michigan University. He is an active member of SAE and the Society of Automotive Analysts.
Wusterbarth, who also brings more than 20 years of experience to CSP, will lead the company’s joint venture and advanced manufacturing efforts. Calling upon both his technical and manufacturing expertise in the composites industry, Wusterbarth will be responsible for the planning and implementation of advanced manufacturing and materials initiatives, including those involving possible acquisitions and joint ventures.
Prior to joining CSP, Wusterbarth was partner and COO of Creative Liquid Coatings, an injection molding and surface coating supplier to the automotive industry. He’s also held executive leadership positions with Plastech, Plastic Omnium and Magna.
Wusterbarth holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Purdue University. He is an active member of SAE and the Society of Plastics Engineers, and currently resides in Oscoda Township, Michigan, where he serves as an elected member of the township Board of Trustees.
